Explore the delights of life afloat while surrounding yourself with a breathtaking 180 degree panorama at the Bozburun Yacht Club. A boutique hotel with its own little marina – what you might call a marinette, the Club is run by Edhem, who is also in charge of the Laser Class Association in the Turkish Sailing Federation. He can provide tuition in all forms of sailing and navigation, and will take great pleasure in introducing you to his classic yacht.
Whether you are an experienced sailor, or just like messing about in boats, this is where it all happens boatwise. You can try your hand at wakeboarding, water-skiing, windsurfing, rowing, canoeing and dinghy sailing. Pride of place at the Yacht Club, however, goes to the classic Turkish single-masted dinghy. Built to an ancient traditional design, the boat is over 100 years old.
Panoramic dining
Food forms the other delicious dimension to life at The Yacht Club. Edhem's mother Zeynep runs the Lemonade restaurant, serving local specialities and traditional Turkish cuisine. She will also cook your favourite dishes exclusively for you.
Dinner on the terrace or the complimentary breakfast is a delight – almost any view from the hotel or the grounds is a vista of sea, sky and, just beyond the bay, the Greek island of Symi.
Accommodation
In a nutshell, The Yacht Club:
- Has three standard rooms, two deluxe rooms and one suite
- Is 1 hour 45 minutes from Dalaman airport
All rooms are air-conditioned. The
Cemile Sultan Deluxe room, on the first floor, is situated next door to the family library, which houses a magnificent collection of Turkish and English literature and philosophical writings. Some of the works are hundreds of years old. Furnished with antiques and heirlooms, Cemile Sultan has a king-sized double bed and all-enveloping sea views.
On the top floor, the
Zeynep Sultan Deluxe room is equally well-appointed, with a king-sized double bed and teak-covered balcony overlooking the ocean. The ornate furnishings include items that once belonged to Mussolini's sister.
All
Standard rooms have large wooden terraces, with incredible views.
The Glass Suite
The Glass Suite is everything the name suggests – an octagonal, wooden framed building with walls of glass and its own private bathing jetty for you to wrap yourself in the spectacular views of the gardens, the sea and the island. Blinds and drapes give you privacy when you want it.
