Accessed via a picturesque and quiet coastal road, remote Bozburun is only minutes from the charming villages of Selimiye and Orhanive, and better yet - Orfoz - voted the finest seafood restaurant in Turkey. This far-flung village is also home to Elixir Art, the landmark hotel that has turned Bozburun into a preferred destination for the well-traveled elite.

The hotel was purchased by a wealthy Turkish textile baron, who fell in love with the dilapidated guest house and concluded a deal with its original owner, Sabrina (a retired German woman), within minutes of his arrival. He invested millions in renovating the quaint old property, transforming it into an exclusive retreat of rare craftsmanship.

Arrival at Elixir Art is by five-minute boat ride from Bozburun. The charming, distinctively-uniformed staff greet you with fresh lemonade, flavoured with mint. Well-tended gardens and paths are dotted with cushioned sun-loungers, hammocks, shades and gazebos while timbers overhead provide cool elegance. Unusually for an Elixir property, the hotel has no swimming pool - unless you count the clean, clear Mediterranean waters that lap against the hotel's long expanse of shore-side teak decking as a pool. Also at water's edge is a recently-installed sunken Jacuzzi that feels more like a large infinity pool. Relax in the swirling water and soak up the view.

There is excellent cuisine nearby. Sardunya at Selimiye is highly recommended, and the restaurant will send a free car to collect and return you to Elixir Art. The restaurant at Elixir Art itself is among the finest in the region.
